Day After Day I remember finding out about you Every day my mind is all around you Looking out from my lonely room Day after day Bring it home, baby, make it soon I give my love to you I remember holding you while you sleep Every day, I feel the tears that you weep Looking out from my lonely gloom Day after day Bring it home, baby, make it soon I give my love to you - SOLO - I remember holding you while you sleep Every day, I feel the tears that you weep Looking out from my lonely gloom Day after day Bring it home, baby, make it soon I give my love to you Doo doo doo's...

How can you say that you're not responsible? What does it have to do with me? What is my reaction, what should it be? Confronted by this latest atrocity Driven to tears Driven to tears Driven to tears Hide my face in my hands, shame wells in my throat My comfortable existence is reduced to a shallow meaningless party Seems that when some innocent die All we can offer them is a page in a some magazine Too many cameras and not enough food 'Cause this is what we've seen Driven to tears Driven to tears Driven to tears ahah w-o-h, w-o-h woh, oh, woh oh w-o-h way oh, way oh... - SOLO - Protest is futile, nothing seems to get through What's to become of our world, who knows what to do Driven to tears Driven to tears Driven to tears woh, wo-oh Driv-en Driv-en ya-a-a w-o-h, driven to tears - BASS SOLO - What to do, w-o-h ...eeeeaaahhh-w--o-h

Into The Mystic Mys-tiiiiic... We were borne before the wind Also younger than the sun Ere the bonnie boat was won As we sailed into the mystic Hark, now hear the sailors cry Smell the sea and feel the sky Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic And when that foghorn blows I will be coming home And when the foghorn blows I want to hear it I don't have to fear it and I want to rock your gypsy soul Just like way back in the days of old And magnificently we will flow into the mystic - SOLO - When that fog horn blows You know I will be coming home And when that fog horn whistle blows I got to hear it I don't have to fear it and I want to rock your gypsy soul Just like way back in the days of old And together we will flow into the mystic Doo doo do-do-do-do-do... Into the mys-tic

Reminiscing 04:20
Reminiscing Friday night it was late, I was walking you home We got down to the gate, I was dreaming of the night Would it turn out right? How to tell you girl, I want to build my world around you Wanna tell you that it's true I wanna make you understand I'm talking about a lifetime plan Well that's the way it began, we were hand-in-hand Glen Miller's band was better than before We yelled and screamed for more And those Porter's tunes made us dance across the room It ended all too soon On the way back home I promised you'd never be alone Hurry, don't be late I can't hardly wait I said to myself when we're old We'll go dancing in the dark, walking through the park And reminiscing Friday night it was late, I was walking you home We got down to the gate, I was dreaming of the night Would it turn out right? Now as the years roll on, each time we hear our favorite song The memories come along Older times we're missing, spending the hours reminiscing Hurry, don't be late I can't hardly wait I said to myself when we're old We'll go dancing in the dark, walking through the park And reminiscing Reminiscing Re-miniscing Re-mi-niscing

One Fine Morning One fine morning when I'll wake up Wipe the sleep from my eyes Go outside and feel the sunshine Then I know I'll realize That as long as you love me, ya we'll fly And on that mornin' when I wake up I'll see your face inside a cloud See your smile inside a window Hear your voice inside a crowd Calling, "Come with me baby and we'll fly" Yeah, we'll fly-y-y, yeah, we'll fly We'll fly, we'll fly, ya, we'll fly-y-y And on that mornin' when I wake up We'll go outside and live our dreams I'll buy you candies made of stardust And little dolls dressed up in moonbeams And everywhere we go we'll laugh and sing I'll kiss you morning, noon and night And all the universe will smile on us 'Cause they know that our love is finally right Yeah, we'll fly-y-y, yeah, we'll fly We'll fly, we'll fly, ya we'll fly Yeah, we'll fly to the east, we'll fly to the west There'll be no place we can't call our own, no, no Yeah, we'll fly to the north, we'll fly to the south There'll be no place we can't call our o-w-n, ya ya -SOLO - We'll fly to the east, we'll fly to the west There'll be no place we can't call our own We'll fly to the north, fly to the south Every planet will become our h-o-m-e!

Midnight at the oasis Send your camel to bed Shadows painting our faces Traces of romance in our heads Heaven's holding a half-moon Shining just for us Let's slip off to a sand dune, real soon And kick up a little dust Come on, Cactus is our friend He'll point out the way Come on, till the evening ends 'Til the evening ends You don't have to answer There's no need to speak I'll be your belly dancer, prancer And you can be my sheik Come on, Cactus is our friend He'll point out the way Come on, till the evening ends 'Til the evening ends Midnight at the oasis Send your camel to bed Got shadows painting our faces And traces of romance in our heads Romance in our heads...

Harbor Lights Child of a Tokyo Rose I was bound to wander from home Stranger to whatever I'd awaken to Spun the wheel Took a shot in the dark One way ticket and a runaway heart A Sailors dream came true The night I dreamed of you Through the neon doorways Down the stony streets I fell All hands high side All eyes a wreck I followed Sailing shadows reds and blues Curtains drawn but I saw through The window to your soul And I found you Woah oh oh oh The harbor lights of Venus Shining through the breeze That brings me back To you my love To you my love To you my love Ooh ooh ooh My eyes must be betrayin' But that lonesome jukebox playin' Somethin' 'bout the harbor lights Is calling me Back to some Jamaican bay Doesn't seem so far away Keep the change But I'll repay these memories Dawn came in this morning Like some old junked out melody The words she spoke as we awoke still haunt me "What you feel too Won't reveal you Let me steal you for my life" Woah oh oh oh The harbor lights of Venus Shining through the breeze That brings me back To you my love To you my love To you my love Woah oh oh oh The harbor lights of Venus Shining through the breeze That brings me back Oh to you my love To you my love To you my love Ooh ooh ooh Ooh ooh ooh - BAND OUTRO -

More Than You Know More than you know More than you know Man of my heart I love you so Lately I find You're on my mind More than you know Whether you're right Whether you're wrong Man of my heart I'll string along You need me so More than you'll ever know Loving you the way that I do There's nothing I can do about it Loving may be all you can give But honey I can't live without it Oh how I'd cry Oh how I'd sigh If you got tired and said goodbye More than I'd show More than you'd ever know

Is That What Love's All About? There was a time when we dreamed A time when we were carefree Sun-kissed hands I held Summer nights entranced The thrill of young romance Forever always we vowed We'd get by with our without Without the grace and pride That you just tossed aside Is that what love's all about? Promises, yearnings of a love so serene Unfettered futures and untangled dreams We'll trudge through it all does love not conquer all Is that what Love's all about? Is that what love's all about?! There was a time when we dreamed A time when we were carefree Sun-kissed hands I held, Summer nights entranced, The thrill of young romance Forever always we vowed We'd get by with o-o-or without Without the grace and pride That you just tossed aside Is that what love's all about? A child's love, like a deep rooted tree needs to thrive It's stunted and poisoned and bends from the sky We'll trudge through it all Does love not conquer all is that what love's all about? is that what love's a-l-l about?! Oh ba-by....so Come on and tell me all about love L-o-ve! Is that what love's all about... Do do do, do do do, do do dooooo.. Is that what our love w-a-s....a-l-l about...

I'm In The Mood For Love/Moody's Mood I'm in the mood for love Simply because you're near me Funny but when you're near me I'm in the mood, for love... There I go there I go there I go, there I go Pretty baby you are the soul that snaps my control Such a funny thing but every time I'm near you I never can behave You give me a smile and then I'm wrapped up in your magic Music all around me Crazy music, music that keeps Calling me so very close to you Turns me your slave Come and do with me any little thing you want to Anything baby just let me get next to you Well am I insane, or do I really see Heaven in your eyes Bright as the stars that shine up above you In the clear blue skies How I worry 'bout you Just can't live my life without you baby come here DOn't have no fear Oh, is there a wonder why I'm really feeling in the mood for love? So tell me why stop to think about this weather my dear? This little dream might fade away Oh there I go talking out of my head again Oh won't you come and put our two hearts together, That'd make me strong and brave Oh, when we are one, I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid, Cause if there's a cloud up above us Go on and let it rain, I'm sure our love together will endure a hurricane Oh my baby Won't you please let me love you and get a release from this awful misery? - SOLO - If there's a cloud up above If it should rain, we'll let it But for tonight forget it... I'm so crazy about love Never knowing when love's all around you can blow now if you want to we're through...

Sneaky Love Loneliness sneaks up on you like a back to school ad on the last day of June With so many friends finding their sweet brides and grooms Instead of loneliness, why can't love sneak up on me too Dates came along but no-one thought to explore just who I am, what I like what I do and what excites me and more, Don't get me wrong, good men I surely knew But love, just, wasn't sneaking up on me too! My mother always told me, that time will one day tell That things'll work out well, True love finds you when you least expect it Without some Soul reflection you may foolishly reject hi-i-m - SOLI SECTION (HORNS) - My mother always told me That time will one day tell Ya things'll work out well True love finds you when you least expect it Without some should reflection You may foolishly reject him ya, aaa Her words were wise For when I opened the door For who I am, what I like, what I do and what excites me and more, To my surprise I recognized my true blue yes love had found time to sneak up on me too yes love had found time to sneak up on me too love just keeps sneaking up....on me too.... True love finds you when you least expect it ya, yaaaa Yes love had found time to sneak up on me too

about

The concept for ONE FINE MORNING had been floating around in my head for years. I wanted something energetic, bold and honest in what was to be my debut jazz recording. I kept coming back to these cherished tunes I'd discovered in my teen years of the 1970s, a period when the great artists of our time took more risks, dug far deeper and explored more creatively than ever before OR after. I have a heartfelt connection to each of the tunes selected. There are two originals included that I'm immensely proud of. We continually strived to marry pop/rock tunes to our finely crafted jazz arrangements, while maintaining their original charm and integrity.
Instrumentally my goal was to maintain a bass and guitar-centric soundscape overall - cue uber-talented guitarist Bob McAlpine whom I hired not only to play on, but to also produce ONE FINE MORNING. Best decision I made. Cue then one of Canada's premiere jazz bassists Pat Collins. I now had the team I needed - to inspire and to create that sound; Bob's forte mainly being pop/rock (but no stranger to jazz) and Pat's background being primarily jazz (but no stranger to pop/rock!). Fortifying this core group was bringing in veteran musician and sound engineer Mike Shotton. Together we brainstormed, woodshedded, arranged, re-arranged, recorded (and drank a ton of coffee), for 2-1/2 years.
You'll hear stellar solo work from Hammond B3/mini moog player Don Baird, trombonist Russ Little, trumpeter Bruce Cassidy and of course from both Bob McAlpine and Pat Collins. The recording also features both the LIGHTHOUSE and BRASS TRANSIT horn sections!
